The locals' version of the romantic night skips the airport entirely. Check in at three, be at the pool by four, dinner at eight, sleep in the kind of bed that makes Monday a rumour. One night done right beats a long weekend done hastily.
The room matters more than the itinerary. A Jewel Suite on the harbour side carries the evening; the same plan in a standard room reads as effortful. Spend the difference on the room, not on champagne delivered twice.
The evening, sequenced
The pool before dinner is the detail locals know — the deck at four on a summer evening is quiet, and the swim earns the appetite. Back upstairs by six; the room at golden hour is its own event.
Dinner at eight, not seven. The early sitting rushes toward the theatre crowd; eight lets the meal stretch. BLACK for the grill and the view, or Sokyo's counter if the date likes watching work.

The desk's staycation rule
The details that carry it
Flowers in the room before arrival — we place them; the florist is two streets away. A bottle held cold. The turndown timed for when you're at dinner, so the room resets itself while you're out.
The staycation checklist
- Jewel Suite on the harbour side, floor sixteen or above
- Flowers and champagne placed before you arrive
- Pool at four, dinner at eight, nothing between
- Late checkout to 1 pm — the morning is part of it
- Breakfast in the room, not the buffet
The massage at noon on checkout day is the move that separates a staycation from a sleepover. The couples suite holds it; book it when you book the room.
What it costs
The package bundles it — suite, spa, private terrace dinner, champagne — at $2,450, roughly $440 under the separate prices. On a one-night version we trim it to fit; the desk prices it honestly either way.
Book it for the anniversary, the apology, or the Tuesday that needed it. The occasion is the excuse; the building does the work.
